I believed the same as everyone else.
I was taught to work hard, get a job, spend less than I earned. This was all that friends, family and school ever taught about money.
I believed that I needed someone to help me.
A few years ago, I had a buy-to-let property and some savings, and I wanted to make my money work harder. I turned to Financial Advisors for help—but I quickly felt apprehensive. Most wanted to manage my money for me (with unclear fees), and none offered the clarity or confidence I was looking for.
It left me wondering: Is good financial advice only for the wealthy?
I believed that I could help myself.
I then started a journey. A transformation of my financial awareness. Studying pages of the internet, reading book after book, watching video after video and listening to podcast after podcast I slowly began to unveil the secrets that lay hidden behind the jargon and unnecessary complexities. At this stage I was not doing it for you - I was doing it for me. I wanted some simple principles to follow and some practical steps to put in place so that my future, and the future of my family was in the best place it could possibly be.
I had learned that if I were to be rich, I needed to be intentional with my finances. I was now educated and had a strategy. I felt confident that I was making informed decisions with my finances for the first time.
I believed that I should help others.
As I shared what I’d learned, something unexpected happened: people started asking me for help. I realised that many others were stuck where I had been—wanting guidance but unsure where to turn. Ending up in their current situation more by luck, than by judgement.
With a background in teaching and lecturing, I knew I could explain things in a way that made sense. I started helping others gain clarity and control over their finances—without the jargon, pressure, or hidden fees.
Today, I work as a money mentor to help people like you build confidence with money, set clear goals, and create a financial future you can feel good about.
I believe that I can help you, to help yourself.
